im gonna tell you a story - an ancient indian legend

There is an ancient indian legend of a young man's rite of passage.
his father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone.
the youth is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not move the blindfold until the rays of the morning sunshine through it.
he can not cry out for help to anyone, he has no weapons or companions.
once he survives the night he is considered a man.
he cannot tell the other boys of his experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.
the boy is naturally terrified. he can hear all kind of noises/ wild beasts must surely be around him.
maybe even some humans might harm him or a spirit of the night.
the wind blows the grass and earth and it shakes his stump.
yet he sits stoically never removing the blindfold/ its the only way he may become a man.
finally after a horrific night the sun appears and he removes his blindfold

it is then he discovers his father sitting next to him/ he had been at watch the entire night
protecting his son from harm.

we to are never alone even when we dont know it
god is watching us ----sitting on the stump by oursides study
