Rheumatoid Arthritis

Post  BMGirl on Fri Jul 04, 2008 2:30 pm

When you have Rheumatoid Arthritis the body's immune system also attacks tissues in the body itself and in particular the lining of your joints. This causes inflammation, swelling and pain in the joints themselves.

DAS 28

Post  BMGirl on Fri Jul 04, 2008 5:13 pm

DAS 28 (Disease Activity Score using 28 joint measurement)

This is based upon an examination to establish the presence of swelling or tenderness in 28 of your joints. It also includes an assessment of how you have been feeling during the last week, which will be judged using a Visual Analogue Score. Both pieces of information will be used to calculate the DAS 28 Score
